Class 1 Rec, Year 1 and Year 2
Welcome to Class 1, I hope you will find the information on our pages useful. I will endeavour to keep the pages up to date and provide you with information on our topics, your child's learning and activities to continue your child's learning at home.
To ensure our teaching bubbles stay safe in school we are not having our usual whole school award assemblies on a Friday. We are, however, having our own class awards on a Friday morning, when we celebrate good work, out of school achievements and award a 'Star of the Week' certificate and prize. At the bottom of the page, you can watch videos of our awards.
Children will need to come to school in their PE kits on their designated PE days. Please note that this will be PE outdoors so the children may be more comfortable in joggers rather than shorts once the weather gets colder. These should be worn with their PE tops and their school sweatshirts, not hoodies or other sports tops.
Joggers are required on Thursdays when the children have Forest School as shorts are not suitable!
Reception - PE Mondays (from 21.9.20) and Forest School on Thursdays from (1.10.20).
Year 1 and Year 2 - PE - Monday & Thursday (Forest School lesson also on Thursday)
Forest School - Children will be provided with waterproof bottoms and coats, as stated above please ensure the children are in joggers and not PE shorts on a Thursday. As the weather gets colder we will still be out in the woods and you may want to send your child into school wearing an extra layer and they will definitely need hats and gloves to keep them warm. They will also need a named pair of wellies in a named bag and again as the weather gets colder an extra pair of socks is suggested. If possible, it would be helpful if their wellies could remain in school as we do venture into the woods on other days too!
Home Reading - Books will be changed throughout the week. Please ensure that your child reads at least 3 times a week.
Year 1 and 2 will complete spelling tests on a Friday. They have now got their own passwords to practise their spellings on the SPELLING SHED website as well as paper copies in their folders. Click below to login.
