John Cross  are Silver Award Winners in this year’s Young Wyre in Bloom competition!

Before the summer holidays and after a lot of hard work by the Junior children and Mrs Bryson’s Gardening club, we were visited by judges from Young Wyre in Bloom competition run by Wyre Borough Council.  They were shown around the garden area and the whole of the school grounds by members of the Gardening Club, during which time they answered a lot questions from the judges.

 In September, we were delighted to hear that we had won a Silver Award for our efforts!  Gardening stalwart, Charlie, accompanied by Lauren and Mrs Bryson visited Poulton-le-Fylde Civic Centre in early October to meet the mayor and to receive our award certificate.  They were given a tour of the council meeting rooms and had a chance to ask the mayor some questions.  Charlie asked the mayor what kind of car he drove! 

Many thanks to all who have contributed seeds and plants for the garden. Thanks also to Mrs Rebecca Bleasdale, a local resident and coordinator of the Bilsborrow in Bloom for the village, for her support with our garden.
